Hengill is a volcanic system in the South West of Iceland. The highest peak of 805 meters is the central volcano Hengill, which where the area takes its name from. It is considered active and last erupted 2000 years ago. The area is a high-temperature geothermal area, and the heat causes alteration in the rock giving us a variety of colors. At the hengill geothermal area you find boiling mud pots and steam rising out from the ground. The nearby town of Hveragerði is also considered to be part of the Hengill Volcano area, and is a place of attraction for its hot springs. Where we take you by helicopter is a remote location, where the energy is raw and untamed. There are no safety ropes because we are taking you to a place not often seen by regular tourists! Explore Hengill with us on the following tours: Geothermal Waterfalls and Valleys Fire and Ice
Our opening hours are from 9am - 5pm Icelandic time (Monday to Sunday).
