Mount Esja

The most known of the mountains surrounding Reykjavík, Mt. Esja, or often called Esjan, is located in Kjalarnes, past the town of Mosfellsbaer just east of Reykjavík. Mount Esja is actually not a single mountain but a mountain range formed by some volcanic activity. Once surmounted, the view from the top of this 914 metre high mountain is breath-taking.
